WATERSPORTS fans will be able to wakeboard and swim outdoors after plans to transform a Basildon lake were approved.

Sports firm JVP Leisure has been given the green light to turn Aquatels lake behind Festival Leisure Park, off Cranes Farm Road, in Basildon, into a haven for thrillseekers.

THRILLSEEKERS could soon enjoy adrenalin fueled fun on a lake as a firm bids to bring wakeboarding to Basildon.
JVP Leisure has bought the lake behind Festival Leisure Park, off Cranes Farm Road, Basildon, and could now create a wakeboarding facility.

Several local fishermen, who are opposed to the plans, have set up a Facebook page called “Save Aquatels Fishery”.
