Fisherman rescued by firemen

A FISHERMAN was rescued by firefighters at a lake in Basildon on Thursday night.
Crews from Basildon and Leigh rushed to the scene in Northlands Park in Felmores just after 2am.
The fisherman had been asleep and woke to find himself surrounded by water.

Man and brother assaulted in unprovoked attack

A MAN and his teenage brother were punched in the face in an unprovoked attack.
The two victims, a 20-year-old man and his 15-year-old brother, were near the Westgate car park in Basildon – near the BP Roundacre garage – when they were set upon.
The thug approached the older man and hit him in the face and chest, before punching his younger brother as he tried to intervene.
The thug then ran off toward the Roundacre underpass.

Stabbing at Basildon railway station

A TEENAGER was stabbed in the back at Basildon railway station.
The 18-year-old man, from the town, had been waiting for a train when he got into a row with another passenger.
He was stabbed in the back with a pair of scissors.
The attack happened at 11.15pm on Sunday June 24, 2012.
The teenager suffered minor injuries.
