Trafford House back on the market
Oct 19th

AMBITIOUS plans to transform the former Ford headquarters in Basildon into 359 flats appear to have fallen through after the site was put up for sale.
Developer Colonnade secured planning permission in January to revamp Trafford House, in Cherrydown East, into modern flats surrounded by tree-lined paths, gardens and a new terrace of shops and restaurants.
It was hoped the scheme would provide a springboard for the wider redevelopment of the town centre.
But Trafford House is now being advertised for sale by estate agents Montagu Evans for an undisclosed sum.

THIS is the first image of how a new housing complex set for the former Ford headquarters in Basildon town centre could look. The artist impression reveals plans to transform Trafford House, in Cherrydown East, into 359 flats, set within landscaped terraces and gardens.
Under the plans, Cherrydown East will become a tree-lined street, and shops will be built in Station Way. Developer Colonnade, which is also behind the stalled redevelopment of the Laindon Centre has submitted a planning application to Basildon Council.
Spokesman Godfrey Bradman said: “We believe the proposal is a major step forward for the continuing enhancement of the town centre.
